Wind Energy is Too Inefficient to Catch On

A 1,000 MW coal or nuclear plant occupies about one square mile of land. Since wind energy is somewhere from 5 to 50 times more dilute than energy from fossil and nuclear fuels, gathering an equivalent amount of energy requires huge amounts of land‹about 125 square miles for a 1,000 MW wind farm.
